Clinical governance

Healthcare at Home has an Operational Quality Team (OQT) that deals with company-wide complaints and incidents using the Q-pulse system.

We have an integrated governance committee with sub groups for clinical governance, risk management, information governance, health, safety and environmental governance, and drugs and therapeutics. These groups meet monthly and report into the integrated governance committee.

Our nurses carry anaphylaxis kits and extravasation kits where appropriate, and are extensively trained in their use on an annual basis in conjunction with other mandatory training including CPR, POVA and Infection Control. We have an industry-leading nurse training and development programme whereby all our nurses undergo regular and documented training and supervisory checks throughout their career with us.

All our clinical staff are trained and assessed according to a robust clinical competency programme and nursing protocols are stringently assessed by referring centres and follow relevant Best Practice guidelines. A Medical Advisory Board provide relevant clinical advice and direction, and all of our nurses are insured for the administration of licensed and unlicensed drugs in the hospital or community setting.
