Finance
- Responsible for processing and issuing invoices
- Builds strong relationships with the NHS and other customers
- Issues around 9,000 invoices per month
Finance is made up of a number of teams. Management accountants look after financial reporting and the viability of the business, while purchase ledger handles incoming invoices. The billing team generates invoices, invoice processing ensures the correct data is sent with the invoices, and credit control handles queries and collections. Last, but certainly not least, payroll ensures all employees are accurately paid on time.
There’s sometimes a perception that you have to be a number cruncher to work in Finance, but there’s a lot more to it than that. You have to build relationships with other departments and customers – mainly the NHS. You have to be fairly outgoing, be able to work with a mix of people and have excellent attention to detail.
