Nursing
- Nurses work all over the UK and Ireland
- We treat over 110,000 patients each year
- We provide quality one-to-one care in people's homes
The vast majority of our nurses are attracted to Healthcare at Home because of the unique opportunity to provide quality one-to-one care in patients’ homes – the kind of care that attracted them to the profession in the first place. We have a core of more than 180 permanent nurses working across the UK and Ireland, with another 150 in a temporary capacity – including those who enjoy the freedom of working part time because of family commitments. Visits from nurses vary in length from half an hour to all day, depending on the treatment. Conditions are wide ranging and include cancer, endocrine deficiency, rheumatoid arthritis and many more. Nurses are based in the field and work largely autonomously. They need excellent communication, decision-making and time management skills.
