I have a very specialist condition. When I first started treatment I’d have to go to Leeds from Burton every week on the train. I used to leave home at 7.45am, get on the train at 8.30am, arrive at Leeds at 10am. Then followed a 10-minute walk up a hill to get to the hospital so I’d be shattered and dehydrated. Once at the hospital, I could be sitting there waiting for two hours before I was canullated if they were busy. Sitting in a hospital waiting room is unbelievably draining and if I got on the train after 3.30pm I’d have to stand up the whole way home. Now I go to work in the morning, come home and have my treatment, usually with Katie. Healthcare at Home work around me.
