This paper reviews the evidence base for home healthcare. While the discussion focuses largely on cancer, this model of care is also relevant to other chronic conditions, including multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and HIV.
Home Healthcare – an economic choice for the Health Service

A study published through the Northern Ireland Health Economics Group indicates potential savings for the NHS of around 80% when certain treatments are delivered to appropriate patients in their own home rather than in hospital. The service was also highly rated by patients.
