Professional profile:
Ian Leslie is a consultant in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and the Avon Orthopaedic Centre.
He is a graduate of the University of Queensland and undertook his orthopaedic training in Oxford. He was Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and founded the Bristol Royal Infirmary Hand Surgery Unit, together with the Bristol Hand Rehabilitation Unit.
Ian was president of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, president of the British Orthopaedic Association, and the UK delegate to SICOT, which is the international orthopaedic association. He is currently chairman of Joint Action, the research fundraising body of the British Orthopaedic Association. He reviews research papers for the British Journal of Hand Surgery and the British volume of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
